Description

Set of Small 6 by 8 Inch Slate Food and Cheese Platters or Art Boards feature natural stone to provide customers a smooth, unique surface for food service and art or message boards. Customers can use the slates as small unique food service platter for cheese, wines, fruits and more, or display as message boards, decor, or art pieces. They are perfect for homes, events, bars, restaurants, and more. Because of the slate’s versatility, customers can use them virtually anywhere!

Use and Care

Cohas slates are easy to clean and reuse. Simply wipe away the lettering, and write again! Some orders include a white Zig Posterman waterproof marker. The broad chisel markers feature a 6mm tip, perfect for making thin and thick lines. The Zig Posterman marker will not smudge or wash off with water or oil, but removes easily with Windex or an ammonia based cleaner. When used with food service, clean the board well and write your food, cheese, or wine names on the board and coat with vegetable oil for added protection. For a permanent design, spray the finished slate with acrylic overcoat.

Slate is hand-split stone, cut from roofing tiles that were mined in a quarry in New England. It features a natural organic look that is dark gray in color. These sets are not drilled and include drilling instructions.

Application

For best results, write on the slate boards and allow to fully dry before using. Slates can be lightly coated in cooking oil and used as unique food service platters. They can also be decorated with art and hung from walls or propped on tables, desks, etc. In art applications, the slate can be sprayed with an acrylic overcoat to create a permanent design.

Use

Some slate orders include markers and specific priming instructions. Be careful not to over-prime the markers, as this can cause damage and leaking.
Apply rubber feet to underside of corners of slate to avoid marring of counter tops and surfaces.

Care

Store markers on their sides at room temperature.
Slates should be thoroughly washed prior to first use and between each use. Hand-wash using a soft sponge or brush and regular dish detergent. Allow to air dry. Do not put slate in dishwasher, microwave, freezer, oven, or on stove top.
Marker can be removed with Windex or ammonia based cleaner. Wash well when using chemicals on slate.
